Well managed people are those who just budget their time wisely and accept those things that can’t be changed and find a solution to the things that can still be changed or fixed. They always see the end in mind and accept things as they are. On the other hand a lot of people nowadays are experiencing a dilemma in their lives and yet still coping to the aftershocks of stress. They might think life can be unfair to them now. They need to be understood. And they need to understand that things exist the way we see it. They need to learn the art of seeing things in a different way, in a way that you won’t stress yourself and not feel too much anxiety about something. Now, can you see the two different sides of people? Now, the question for the people who belong to the group who still needs to learn how to cope things well is how will they be able to learn to manage stress and anxiety? How will they keep that state of balance in their lives?

As much as children need love and attention, certain people who experience a major trauma in their lives need as much of that as well. They need to feel that they were understood and that what they are feeling is just a symptom and not a condition. They also need to know that everything will pass. They need to be comforted. It is important as well to educate their families about what they are going through. Their families or support group play a great role in this healing process. They may be the answer or they may be the problem. They can contribute to the healing process or worsen it. We might as well prevent the latter, don’t we?

Unlike medications they treat the symptoms but the effect is not always long term. Relaxation techniques can be practiced and whenever you got a panic  attack you can use it for you to calm down.

If you got it and feel bad about it, then you should learn to modify the way you think to something you can benefit with. Part of the healing process is you should always think that there is no time for useless, unhealthy thoughts in your mind.

Anxiety is a vicious cycle.  Initial anxiety leads to more anxiety over consequent life deterioration.  This, in turn, increases overall Anxiety increases to intolerable levels.  Breaking this destructive chain of events is essential for restoring a meaningful lifestyle.

Medications

Anti-anxiety medicines are typically prescribed to help the patient cope with intense short-term anxiety-inducing events such as job loss or a loved one’s death.  For those especially prone to excessive anxiety, the following long-term coping methods may be much more effective:

Breathe It Out

Excessive anxiety causes fast, shallow breathing.  Rapid, thin respiration further increases anxiety.  Break the cycle with these four simple steps:

1.    Take a deep, slow breath through both nostrils;
2.    Hold it for several seconds;
3.     Release it between your lips with a low sigh, hum, or hiss;
4.    Repeat the first above three steps at least ten times.

Locate a friendly listener

Anxiety leaves you feeling lonely and isolated and exacerbates existing anxiety.  Studies consistently show that adequate social support systems are effective anxiety relievers.  Reach out to concerned friends or family.  If this is not feasible, consult a crisis hotline, minister or counselor for assistance.

Exercise

Anxiety triggers the body to produce excess adrenaline.  Burn it off with a brisk walk or jog.  Jumping rope, dancing, a robust tennis game, or stationary bicycling session may also bring prompt anxiety relief.

Soothe the Savage Beast

Try a tension-soothing muscle relaxation regiment.  Anxiety causes your muscles to be much tighter and tenser than normal.  Indulge in a long, hot bath or shower.  Ask a friend or spouse for a brief body massage.  If your budget permits, pay a professional masseuse to perform this service.

Tea time

Some herbal-based teas like chamomile purportedly have relaxation properties.  Breathe in its aroma while holding the cup firmly in both hands.  Sip slowly while concentrating on the warm sensation of flowing over your tongue and down your throat. Avoid caffeine-containing teas, however.

Cross-examination with self-examination

Thoughts have major impact upon emotions.  Thoroughly examine the events or circumstances surrounding your anxiety and write them down.  Then, conduct some self-talk with the following questions:

1.    Is this situation really worth worrying over?
2.    Have I overlooked anything that could contradict my anxious feelings?
3.    How important will the whole thing be in a week, month, or year?
4.    Am I forecasting trouble or misfortune absent sufficient evidence?

Easy listening

Sounds have major impact on emotions.  Find some slow, mellow music on the radio or an online source.  Relax and close your eyes.  Let yourself flow into calmer feelings induced by the smooth melody.
